Tai Chi 太極拳
Tai Chi is an “internal” martial art and is practiced for its great health benefits and ability to teach great coordination and breath control. When practiced at full speed and full power, Tai Chi is also very effective as a self defense martial art. Tai Chi adheres to the traditional principles of mixing Yin (soft, slow) with Yang (hard, fast). This style requires fitness, precise technique, controlled breathing, and manipulation of the Dan Tian (energy center). Tai Chi not only focuses on slow movements of attack and defense, but demands unification of external movement with internal energy and Chi.
